Silver Oaks Chalet Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. What nights do I have the opportunity to reserve? You will always have the opportunity to reserve your wedding night up to 9 months from your date. After that, it will be offered to the couple prior/after you. Friday couples have the first opportunity to reserve Thursday night.

2. If I have a rehearsal dinner at the Chalet, will there be enough parking?
There are no issues with parking for Thursday night rehearsal dinners. If you are wanting a Friday rehearsal and there is another event at the Chateau, you will need to make sure all cars are kept on the asphalt parking lot in front of the Chalet. There is space for 20+ cars now. Additional parking may take place on the gravel around the back of the building.

4. How soon can I secure my rental?
You may lock in your rental 9 months prior to your wedding day. The first 1/2 of the payment is due upon booking and the final 1/2 payment is due 6 months out from your rental.

5. Can I get ready at the Chalet?
If you have booked the night prior to your wedding day, you may use the bridal area in Paris bedroom or other bedrooms to get ready.

6. Can I take pictures at the Chalet?
On your rental day the place is yours for pictures. If you are not renting the building you may not use it for pictures.

7. How does a rehearsal dinner or bridal brunch work?
The Silver Oaks staff will change the great room to banquet area for you and reset it after the event for $250. Please know that if you choose not to pay the $250 Set Up Fee, the building will remain as-is. You can opt to cook, bring in food from delivery or have it catered. All of our caterers are open to an arrangement of bringing items desired at agreed rates.

8. Can I have groceries delivered?
You can use Dierbergs delivery, Shipt, or other delivery services to have your food delivered. Special items can potentially be arranged for a service charge.

9. Will the gate be open or closed?
The gate will be closed at 11pm on Thursdays and by midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a keypad inside the gate that you will have a code to access to open the gate. It will close behind you when you leave. Upon your return, you will use the same code to reenter on the keypad located outside of the gates.

10. How will I check in?
Check in will be through a text code. Each rental will have a separate code for entry. Names and numbers for the guests will be requested the week prior to check in to this information can be provided.

11. What will the kitchen have available? There is an oven, stove, sink, dishwasher, microwave, glassware, flatware etc for 18 people. A Keurig will be available but you will need to bring the K cups. There will be basic cookware, towels, hot pads etc.

12. Is there maid service?
There is a cleaning fee to cover cleaning the Chalet after your stay. Otherwise, it is treated like an AirBNB with no maid service during your stay.

13. Who will I contact with concerns during my stay?
You will be provided a contact person the week of your check in.

14. How do I get my security deposit back?
We will hold your check to determine if there are damages or missing items upon your departure. Our rental contract will go over specifics regarding breaches of contract. Once we have determined all is well, you will receive your check back.

15. Is there a washer or dryer available? Yes.

16. Will there be Internet connection? Yes.

17. What is available in each room? The main level bedrooms will be equipped with queen or king bed, bathroom, shower, Smart TVs, USB plugs by beds and closet space. The master bedroom has a separate clawfoot tub and access to the deck on the rear of the building. The Paris-themed bedroom is ADA Accessible.

18. Will the Chalet be ADA accessible? The first floor of the Chalet will be ADA compliant with one bedroom and bathroom.

19. Is smoking allowed at the Chalet? No.

20. Are pets allowed? No.

21. Is there any A/V equipment available? For sound, we will have a Sonos speaker available in the main gathering area.

22. Do I still need to have all items removed from the Chateau by midnight? All items DO need to be removed from the Chateau by midnight. You are welcome to bring your items over to the Chalet if that eases clean up.
